Depicting Gender Construction in Visual Images of ELT Textbook of Junior High School in Indonesia

Di Indonesia, kesadaran terhadap kesetaraan gender dalam buku pelajaran sekolah masih perlu mendapat perhatian. Sebagai upaya untuk mengisi kesenjangan tersebut, dilakukan penelitian Bahasa Inggris kelas IX SMP. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan: (1) mengetahui konstruksi gambar visual yang terdapat pada SMP diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia; (2) menjelaskan representasi bias stereotip Indonesia. merupakan kualitatif menggunakan analisis tekstual dipadukan dengan wacana. Dalam pengumpulan data, menganalisis dikemukakan Kress Van Leeuwen (2006) diadopsi Painter Martin (2010) (2008) digunakan diadaptasi di beberapa bagian menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perempuan secara relatif dikonstruksi sedikit lebih dominan daripada laki-laki pelajaran; ditemukan pelajaran. sini, dapat disimpulkan ada porsi berbeda merepresentasikan teks mengarah gender. Kemudian, hal juga mempengaruhi karena dibangun berdasarkan pandangan umum tentang berbagai karakteristik terkait budaya perbedaan sosial antara perempuan. Oleh itu, latar belakang sosiokultural penulis mereka menentukan isi In the awareness of equality in school textbooks still needs paying attention. As an attempt to fill this gap, ninth grade ELT textbook Junior High School was researched. Here, it could concluded there different portions representing which drove biasness. Then, also affected since they are based on general views about range characteristics related culture social divisions between females. Therefore, sociocultural background authors influenced them determine contents textbooks.
